The smooth shining paint is the beauty of all the cars. You can change the appearance of the car by painting it according to your will. To have your car paint from the professional painters cost you many bucks. The cost varies from several hundred to several thousand bucks depending upon the paint job and its quality. Painting your car is not an impossible task; it is very much doable job. The only thing required is your commitment and precision. Hereunder we are going to discuss some of the useful tips, which help you to paint your car easily.

Items Required

-Masking tape (special type of tape used to protect certain areas when painting)
-Tarpaulin or other covering material
-Paint urethane based
-Sandpaper
-Paint sprayer
-Putty
-Dust mask, gloves, goggles etc
-Sponge
-Urethane Clear coat Kit
-Acrylic Lacquer Clear coat
-Car Painting Clear coat
-Grease remover or wax

Instructions

1. It is important to wash the car before you start with painting process. It is desirable to make the surface of the car free from any dust, mud, scum or dirt in order for paint to adhere properly. Wash the car and make it dry with cotton cloth.

2. The next step involves the sanding down of the rough. This will be done with the help of sandpaper. Use loose and fine grit sandpaper to tough and small areas respectively. Make use of putty to fill out small holes and dips before you can proceed to next step. For if these holes and dips are not given special care they will not let the paint to adhere properly. So, sand down all the affected areas. Be sure that the area you are about to paint is smooth and level.

3. In this step you need to cover all the parts with masking tape and tarpaulin, which you don’t want to get paint on. For instance, mirrors, windows, wheel covers etc.

4. Once you are fully prepared, apply the equal amount of primer to the entire parts, which are to be painted. Primer an important ingredient as it helps paint to adhere properly. After the application of primer, let it dry for some time. Once the primer is dried, sand down the surface again to make it smooth.

5. Now is the time to apply paint to your car. Use urethane based paint and the spray gun to spray the base coat of the paint over the whole surface slickly. Let it dry for about 15-20 minutes. After 20 minutes apply the final coat of the paint evenly over the surface and let it dry for about 90 odd minutes.

6. In the end you are required to apply the clear coat of paint over the surface. Give a gap of 15 minutes after every coat. Repeat this process thrice and after the third coat leave the surface to dry for about 90 minutes. You are done with your paint job.

Mud flaps are used on a vehicle to protect its body from damage by debris on a road. There are a number of things to look for when purchasing these flaps for your vehicle. Here are a few tips to think about before you buy them.

First tip, you should check is the make and model of your vehicle. Mud flaps are made to suit different vehicles, so you will need a set that will fit your make and model.

There is also a difference between front and back flaps in some vehicles. This should be easy enough to work out by looking at the place where the mud flap has been attached if it has fallen off or if it is still attached and in need of replacement. If it has fallen off and you are unsure of what shape you need check the other side of the vehicle which corresponds with the one you have lost and it will give you the shape you are looking for. There are flaps available to fit any car, these are known as universal.

If for some reason the tire size on the vehicle has been changed this will need to be taken into consideration. A larger tyre may be inclined to rub on the flap and cause unnecessary wear. So if this looks like it could be a problem, there may be a need for some smart metal work to move the flap out of reach of the larger tire. An auto repair shop could be approached about doing this, or find a flap that will fit.

There are many different materials flaps are made from. These include plastic, rubber, a rubber compound or metal. Plastic mud flaps are hard and not flexible, they give the car less protection because they are smaller and can become brittle in cold weather and break off. These are usually the lowest priced.

Rubber or rubber compound is flexible and will tend to bend to a certain degree if in mud or other similar road conditions, these mud flaps are generally better at diverting the road debris away from the tires and vehicle.

Metal flaps are not flexible but are useful if in conditions where there may be a great deal of debris to contend with, this may be in off road situations. They are not suited to normal driving conditions. This is also another thing to consider when buying flaps for your car, you need to work out where you will be driving to what type of material you will need.

So if you need to buy new mud flaps for your vehicle, remember to check what model of car you have, the size of flaps you need, whether they are front or back flaps and the material you will need to suit your driving conditions. From this you should be able to find what you are looking for.

The value of a classic car depends on how close the car is to the original condition. This means that even tiny scratches will deplete the value of the car. It takes more time, effort and money to maintain a classic car because the materials are not readily available and the parts are no longer in production.

To prolong the life of your classic car, keep it away from freezing temperatures and direct sunlight. A garage will reduce dust build up and it will keep away bugs from seat cushions and other parts of the car. In cold climate, invest in an engine warmer. If the car will be in storage for long, pump out the fluids. Leave the petcock open and remove the radiator cap to ensure maximum circulation. Remove the battery, clean it with a baking soda solution, and then top it up with distilled water. Cover the car with a soft cotton flannel cloth. To care for the leather and rubber, you should moisturize them regularly. Rubber parts need thorough cleaning and lubrication. These parts are susceptible to mildew and dust and so you should cover all the parts to reduce damage. If the car will be parked tor a long time, roll down the windows to allow for air circulation. You can sprinkle baking soda in the car to absorb moisture.

It is important that you protect the engine because engines of classic cars are not available in the market. Note that engines of classic cars were made for straight gasoline and the ethanol levels in new gasoline may corrode the interior of the engine and it may damage cork parts and parts made from natural rubber. To remedy this problem, use a fuel stabilizer, but make sure it is not alcohol based. Stabilizers such as STA-BIL have additives that prevent the corrosion caused by ethanol. You should also replace damaged fuel tank, install a fuel and a water separation filter, and replace old fuel lines and other parts that are susceptible to corrosion with materials that are ethanol resistant. After taking care of the engine, take care of the radiator because it is also prone to dirt accumulation. Use a high-pressure nozzle to pump water into the radiator. You should also check for leaks regularly.

Replacing old parts is the hardest part of maintaining a classic car. This is because it is hard to find old parts and it might be necessary to fabricate the part. Replacing parts of classic cars with parts from other vehicles greatly deplete the value of the car. Maintenance of a classic car also involves cleaning the car. This not only increases its aesthetic value, it prevents accumulation of dust, road grime, mildew, bug residue, tree sap, and other substances that may damage the vehicle. Use pH balanced detergents and use lubrication to prevent scratches. Use cotton, or any other paint-safe washing mitt, to do the cleaning. Wipe the car dry after cleaning to prevent water spots. For a shiny paint job, use car cleaner, car polish, or rubbing compounds. After this, wax the car since this is a proven way to protect the paint work.

If you have a car, you should know how expensive it is to replace tires. Brand new tires can cost a lot of money. Fortunately, there is somewhat of a solution, and that is to buy used tires. You can buy used tires in person or online. It is absolutely recommended, however, that you buy them in person, as you are able to see and feel the treadwear the possible damage to the tire. Obviously, some people prefer to buy everything online because it is more convenient, to say the least. Just make sure that you read the product’s description carefully and look at the pictures thoroughly.

There are a few things that you can do when buying used tires to be able to choose the best ones, whether you are buying online or offline. Probably the most important thing to consider is the size. You can find this information on the car door on the driver’s side or in the car’s manual. Manufacturers suggest that this is the best possible size. But if you are using a different size and you only need to replace one or a couple of tires, you should buy a tire that will match the size of the tires that you currently have on the car.

Apart from the size, you should also inspect the condition of the used tires. Check for uneven tire wear by feeling the tire with your hands. You can only do this if you buy in person. If you feel uneven surface areas or dips and rises, then the tire has been unevenly worn. You should also check the tires for previous repairs. Look at the insides of the tires and check for patches or plugs. You should buy a used tire without any or at least only a few repairs. If you can see that there are several repairs already, then find another used tire that is in better condition.

Lastly, look at the price. The main reason for choosing to buy a used tire is to save money. If you think it is only slightly less expensive than a brand new tire, then maybe it would be better to buy new tires.

Renault is an auto making company that makes trucks, tractors, vans, buses and personal cars and it is based in France. The company has an association with Nissan and this makes it the fourth largest car maker in the world. The company also owns Renault Samsung Motors, which is Korean, and Automobile Dacia, which is Romanian. The company’s headquarter is in Boulogne-Billancourt. Renault Clio is the company’s most successful model and the company’s biggest market is in France.

The first Renault car was produced in 1897, but the company was established in 1899. Three brothers, Louis, Marcel and Fernand Renault together with Louis’s friends Julian Wyer and Thomas Evert, established Renault. Before the establishment of Societe Renault Freres, Louis had been an aspiring engineer and he had built some cars before the corporation came into being. He incorporated his brothers because they had business skills that they had gotten from working in a textiles firm owned by their father. Louis Renault was the designer and he handled manufacturing and the brothers handled management. As a corporation, the first car that the company made was Renault Voiturette 1CV. The brothers popularized their cars by racing and the company got instant success. The racers were Marcel and Louis Renault, but sadly, Marcel died in a race in 1903. The Renault AK 90CV was the first vehicle to win a Grand Prix race – this was in 1906.

Renault made its first sedan in 1899 when cars were seen as expensive toys. In the pre-First World War years, Renault also ventured into taxis, cargo vehicles, and buses. The company contributed to the Allies’ efforts during the First World War by venturing into tanks, military planes, and ammunition. The Allies honored Louis Renault for his contribution. After the World War I, Renault established itself as France’s biggest private manufacturer and it started exporting four-cylinder engines overseas for vehicles such as GJG. From 1918, Renault started producing industrial and agricultural machinery. However, the company’s cars struggled due to ‘people’s cars’ that ware more affordable.

Following France surrendered to the Germans in 1940, Louis Renault was asked to manufacture tanks for Nazi Germany which had taken control of his factories. He refused to do this and he ended up producing trucks for them. After the war, he was accused by the government of being a collaborator and arrested. He died in jail in 1944 and the government seized the factories and his assets. Following the nationalization of Renault, the company experienced unprecedented growth and the rear engine 4CV model was able to rival the popular Volkswagen Beetle and Morris Minor. Renault Fregate, produced from 1951 to 1960, was also successful. However, the company did not perform optimally because of constant labor unrest.

The current logo was designed in 1972 as part of a brand revamp and the Renault 5 hatchback was launched. The company experienced some economic hardships, with a deficit of twelve and a half billion francs in 1984, but by 1987, the company was stable. Renault was revitalized in the 90s and this was aided greatly by the success of Renault Megane and Megane Scenic. Today, the company is financially stable.

Are you looking for ways to add style and sophistication to your ride, without going overboard on cheesy automotive accessories, like hanging dice and hula dancers? You’re in luck. There are so many ways you can glam up your ride with the right accessories. Here are some tips that will leave you riding in style.

Adding glam to the interior of your ride is easy. You can add seat covers, floor mats, a steering wheel cover, a dashboard cover and more. And, these things don’t have to cost you a fortune. A steering wheel cover is extremely affordable, and delivers more than just good looks. Steering wheel covers keep your steering wheel from being too cold on cool early mornings, or too hot on warm summer days. Seat covers and floor mats might cost you a bit more, but they also add style and comfort to your ride. They also protect your interior from sun damage, dirt and spills.

When decorating your interior, you might want to choose a theme. Some people go for the animal print theme and deck their ride out with a zebra or leopard print steering wheel cover and matching seat covers. You can also choose a color theme and accessorize in all pink or yellow products. At some stores you can find sets of matching seat covers, floor mats and a steering wheel cover that come bundled together and might cost you a bit less than purchasing everything separately. But, for higher quality products, you’re probably better off finding each piece individually.

Adding style to the exterior of your ride is where it tends to be a bit trickier. You don’t have as many options when it comes to decorating, and you don’t want your car to be covered in tacky bumper stickers. One easy, affordable and chic way to add style is to add a license plate frame. A license plate frame can range in many styles, from being embellished with pink crystals to having the word “Princess” engraved in it. And, often times you can find a license plate cover that matches your license plate frame for even more style.

See? You have plenty of options available to you when it comes to adding some glam to your ride. And, they don’t have to cost you a fortune. Simply adding a steering wheel cover and a license plate frame will add major style without breaking the bank.

oving offices? Moving home? Need a way to move all your stuff without the worry of it going missing or being damaged? Then there are perfect van hire services available with van hire in Bournemouth, Poole, Ringwood, Dorset or Hampshire, there are many companies that will have the perfect opportunity to make your move hassle free. With vans in a variety of shapes and sizes, there will be no shortage of space for you and your stuff. Van sizes range from 4m x 1.8m up to 6.5m x 3m. There is something guaranteed to be suitable for everyone.

With the hassle of moving office, is there any need for the extra stress and money of hiring movers when you could simply hire your own van? There are many perfect opportunities for van hire at a cheap and reasonable rate. There are long term or contract hire options available which are perfect if you are moving office. There is also the chance to have the van delivered directly to you, saving you the hassle of picking it up.

Instead of loading everything into small cars and making several trips you can simply load everything into the one van meaning less trips, saving you time, effort and ultimately money. Hiring a van also helps moving the heavier furniture, which is unlikely to fit into a standard car especially with you as well.

As well as moving office, several Bournemouth van hire companies offer a range of vans for those of you moving houses or even just clearing out your houses of old furniture and unwanted heavy items. Using a van for moving house is going to have so many benefits again saving you time, effort and money. By hiring a van to move house, it gives you the peace of mind, knowing that your stuff is being driven safely to the new location. It also ensures that it will get there in the same condition as when it left. Choosing a local company such as van hire Bournemouth, is going to make the huge task of moving into a quick, easy and stress free job.

The vans can also be used for going abroad on holidays and adventure trips. If there is a large group of you going, or you simply have a lot of luggage and equipment it would be better to fit everything comfortably into a van with loads of space rather than all squashed and cramped in a small vehicle. There are suitable vans for everyone, every move, and every trip.

I know that when I was last in the car market, roughly 6 years ago now, that Ford didn’t have that much of a great reputation for reliability. I clearly remember people telling me that FORD stood for Fix Or Repair Daily, and that if I got a Ford, I’d regret it. Well, I’m glad to put them wrong, and I believe the opinions of most people have now changed with time, and I believe the reason why is largely due to this car.

I’ve owned my Ford Fiesta 1.6 Zetec for roughly 6 years now, and out all of the 7 car’s I’ve owned, this has been by far the best. Whilst it isn’t the most powerful, or even the most comfortable (the driving position took me a while to get use to), it’s been by far the most reliable, comfortable, and least expensive to run and maintain. In the 6 years of ownership, I can honestly say the only thing I’ve had gone wrong with it was a ball joint on the passenger side. Other than this, the only money I’ve spent on the car over the ownership period was for servicing and getting it’s MOT done at a local garage, petrol, road tax, and insurance. It was purchased 2nd hand from a car dealership, and had done roughly 70,000 miles, and was 7 years old at the time, so average mileage per year roughly. It was purchased for £3,500 by myself, and driven away from the forecourt with a large smile by it’s new owner. The car itself is a very smooth ride, barely noticing the pot holes that litter the London streets. It’s sleek in design, although I have found that the grey plastic on the centre console which houses the car stereo has faded away slightly, revealing the black plastic underneath. My car is a 3 door model, and it has electric windows on both front windows. The drivers side allowing control of both the passenger and driver side window, whilst the passenger side door only allows for passenger side window control. You can pop open the boot via a button on the drivers side which is on the dashboard, and the car also comes with a traction control button which is next to the gear stick. Other than these features, it’s pretty much business as normal when compared to other cars. Fabric material line the seats, the glove box is of a suitable size, and everything else is pretty much where you’d expect it.

My model came with allot wheels, along with a narrow temporary wheel in the boot (I hate these things, much preferring the full size wheel which use to come as spares). The boot is of adequate space, easily allowing me to store a full size suitcase plus more in the back without restriction, and the passengers in the back of the car will find themselves comfortable due to ample leg room being provided. Whilst the interior may look cheap compared to other cars of this period, and you may notice the occasional rattle, the car has been nothing short of amazing to me, due to it’s simplicity and reliability. I’ve had no issues with the electrics like with previous cars, had no recurring faults like with previous cars, and it’s started first time, every time. At the present time, you should also be able to pick one up cheap due to newer models now being released.

When looking for yours, be sure to check it comes with a full service history, and also try to have a good look at the car during the daytime, so you can check out it’s body work in natural light, and also be able to have a look at it’s interior thoroughly, and also check for any leaks from underneath the car. If you’re inexperienced with such matters, it’s best to take long someone who has a knowledge of cars or a mechanic.

There have been many big players in the 7 seater cars section and there are already numerous cars in the market that fall in the category of 7 seater suv and 7 seater cars as such. In 2006 Audi decided to enter this arena with the launch of its first ever 7 seater car; the Audi Q7, which happens to be a crossover luxurious SUV during the Auto Show in Los Angeles and it is built on the famous Volkswagen Group PL71 platform. Presently the latest version of the Audi Q series happens to be the Audi Q5. Q5 was recently showcased in 2010. The SUVs are supposed to be importantly for the off road travels, but it seems based on the Audi’s concept car, the Pikes Peak Quattro; Audi has designed the Q7 keeping in mind the on road features than the off road ones. Even though the Audi Q7 features the four wheel drive system coupled with the CDL (central differential lock), and the air suspension system whose height is adjustable, it is unable to compete the cars in the SUV segment which are manufactured mainly for the off-road purposes.

Safety Features Kept Safe

Audi has introduced a new level of safety in its Q7 car. Among all other 7 seater cars out there, it seems no other car is able to beat Audi’s Q7 safety features. In America, NHTSA rated a total of 5 out of 5 for side and front impact tests in fourteen categories. And it has to be that way, because Audi Q7 features Electronic Stability Programme and variety of safety electronics combined with the numerous airbags to protect the passengers. Although in America this car received good ratings, in Europe, the NCAP rated 4 out of 5 for safety, and Audi claims that it was a design error which has been fixed in the later car releases. Many other tests have been conducted on Audi Q7 and the testers have found that Audi has implemented many innovative ways to protect the passengers sitting within.

Q7 Variants for North America

North America got a good set of Q7 variants to drive. The first one was the Audi Q7 hybrid which is basically a hybrid car that is built upon the Q7 and features an electric motor along with a 4.2 FSI engine; which is able to output a torque of more than 200Nm. This particular hybrid is powered by a battery of Nickel-Metal Hydride and this system pushes the car to an acceleration of 0 to 100 km per hour within 6.8 seconds. But this hybrid is comparatively heavier when compared to the petrol version of the Q7. Audi has actually announced that it would be rolling out even more hybrids but the number would be limited. As of now, Audi seems to be focussed on development of Q5 hybrids that will feature the Lithium-Ion battery.

Vehicles had been initially designed with glass front lights which ended up very easily cracked. The majority of automobiles built since 1990 possess thermoplastic lenses.
