Either the old wall can be torn down or the new sheetrock can be put on top of the old one, we decided on the latter. We had hired a contractor to do the installation and it went smooth.
But, I have to admit, although the noise level has gone down even further, I had little higher expectations, I think. Anyway, the rumbling noise from the trucks seem diluted, at least for now…or is it the money spent talking

The bottom line is, in most cases windows are definitely bigger culprits than the walls. But if you must replace the walls then I would recommend quietrock solution any day.
